Brushing is an obligation of Article L-131-10 of the Forest Code which defines it as operations for reducing plant fuels of all kinds with the aim of reducing the intensity and limiting the spread of fires. The Prefectural Decree of 11 March 2013 classifies the 343 municipalities of the department according to the nature of the forest fire risk and lays down the procedures for its implementation by specifying technical requirements according to the risk per municipality.
