Primary Incident Log: Cultural Appropriation and Spiritual Colonization of Tantra within Sexological Organizations (2023-2025)

This dataset is a primary, first-person incident log documenting observed instances of cultural appropriation and spiritual colonization of Tantra within sexological organizations, documenting meetings as a member between 2023 and 2025.Each entry records the date of the incident, the topic or session under observation, the specific talking points or behaviors observed, and the reviewer's assessment grounded in authentic theological, ritual, and philosophical knowledge of the tradition. Incidents documented include the correction of an indigenous person's pronunciation of a Sanskrit deity name by members of the sexological organization, the dismissal of regional-language scriptures and oral traditions as non-reputable sources, the promotion of shared breathwork and chakra-healing practices as "Tantra" despite these being strictly somatic practices, and not isolated Tantric practices, and the consistent centering of Western, colonial interpretations of the tradition in sessions led exclusively by White facilitators.The dataset also records two periods in which the reviewer took time away from the group to recover from the cumulative harm of sustained cultural attacks and ongoing appropriation.
