Identification and Antifungal Susceptibility Analysis of Cystobasidium slooffiae Isolated for the First Time from Human Wounds

The Basidiomycota phylum dominates in skin system involvement (587 publications), among which the Cryptococcus genus takes the lead. These basidiomycetes might be commensal organisms on the skin, but they can also cause diseases when there are predisposing factors such as impaired immune status or disrupted skin barriers. This study explores the first isolation of Cystobasidium slooffiae, from the secretion samples of skin wounds of two patients.
