Gut microbiome in Immunoglobulin A nephropathy

Immunoglobulin A (IgA) nephropathy is the most common primary glomerular disease. Host-microbiota interactions in mucosa-associated lymphoid tissues have been proposed as a key driver of galactose deficient-IgA1, which is central to the pathogenesis. The goal was to characterize the gut microbiome in IgA nephropathy relative to healthy controls and other glomerular disease controls.
