Imputation integrates single-cell and spatial gene expression data to resolve transcriptional networks in barley shoot meristem development

The aim of the investigation was identifying new markers for meristem-types, or new tissue or cellular domains. Inflorescences in Waddington Stage 3.5 (W3.5) from Golden Promise (GP) includes a developmental gradient from the tip to the base encompassing the inflorescence Meristem (IM), Triple Spikelet Meristems (TSM), Central and Lateral Spikelet Meristems (CSM and LSM), Floret Meristems (FM) and Floral Organ Meristems. We used this developmental stage to capture the information of all potentially meristem types involved in floret formation.
