Continuous wind measurements by a Doppler lidar during the WMO UAS-DC at Meteorological Research Institute, Japan

Meteorological drone profiling was made at the Meteorological Research Institute, Tsukuba City, Japan, from 1 March to 30 April 2024 as a part of the WMO UAS-Demonstration Campaign. In this campaign, continuous vertical wind measurements (e.g., wind speed and direction) from near surface to 300m were made by a Doppler lidar (WINDCUBE, Vaisala).本数据集的气象廓线探测由无人机完成，观测地点位于日本筑波市气象研究所，观测时段为2024年3月1日至4月30日，属于世界气象组织（World Meteorological Organization，WMO）无人机系统（Unmanned Aircraft System，UAS）示范项目的一部分。本次示范项目中，采用芬兰维萨拉（Vaisala）公司生产的WINDCUBE型多普勒激光雷达（Doppler lidar），开展了从近地面至300米高度的连续垂直风场观测，观测要素包括风速与风向等。
