PRESENTATION OF RELIGIOUS–MYSTICAL (IRFANI) WORDS IN THE EXPLANATORY DICTIONARY OF THE LANGUAGE OF ALISHER NAVOI'S WORKS

This article provides a scholarly analysis of how religious and mystical (irfani) vocabulary is interpreted in The Explanatory Dictionary of the Language of Alisher Navoi’s Works. Lexical units found in Navoi’s texts—such as ghafūr, ghaffār, ghaffārlīgh, ghurbat, and ghufrān—are examined with an emphasis on their connections to the Qur’an, Hadith, and Sufi teachings. Using dictionary explanations as the primary basis, the study reveals the lexical, spiritual, and Sufi layers of meaning embedded in these terms and discusses how Navoi’s artistic-stylistic mastery expresses his Sufi worldview through language. The research highlights the scientific value of the dictionary for both Navoi studies and linguistic scholarship.
