Flowing water protection system — main waters and floodplains

Digital nationwide overview of the skin waters of the river protection system Lower Saxony (FGSS). They represent the flowing water type of a natural region in the catchment area of a connecting water. They shall be protected and regenerated, including selected by-waters, in such a way that the species and biotope diversity typical under natural conditions can be restored throughout their entire flow route. They are the core waters of the conservation of natural and flowing waters in Lower Saxony, where renaturation measures are implemented as a priority within the framework of the flow water programme and are mainly promoted. The presentation takes place including the demarcated valley meadows as an area theme.
