Biocides monitoring priority 2016: Active substances from the group of neonicotinoids

Experts from the Federal Environment Agency examined the content and concentrations of the active substances imidacloprid, clothianidin, thiamethoxam, acetamiprid from the group of neonicotinoids and fipronil in the test laboratory for selected insecticides. Of the 18 biocidal products containing a neonicotinoid or fipronil, three products had a lower active substance content compared to labelling. For the other 15 biocidal products, the concentration data for the active substances contained were largely consistent with the measurement results. Neonicotinoids other than those indicated have also not been detected. In addition, a further eight biocidal products without appropriate labelling were tested for their content of neonicotinoids or fipronil. In all these cases, no neonicotinoids were detected.
