A Structural Characterisation and Application of Monoclonal scFvs against Annexin A2 and S100A10

AIIt is a protein complex that has been found to be associated with cancer cell metastasis - the process by which cancer cells migrate from their original site of development. While targeting AIIt for treatment could potentially be useful, there is no means to specifically detect AIIt in patients. The study explored using small antibody fragments called scFvs as a possible solution. It was found that these scFvs enabled specific detection of AIIt in both plasma and tissue samples, invaluably aiding in the diagnostic process and facilitating treatment.
