Begun in the late 1960s, the Herpetology Collections houses over 13,000 specimens. The primary geographic emphasis include the Concho Valley and Edwards Plateau regions of west-central Texas, but other areas include United States, Argentina, Mexico, Bahamas, Trinidad, and Panama.
