Polyergus mexicanus Genomic Resources

The kidnapper ant, Polyergus mexicanus, is an obligate social parasite of Formica ant species. Known for being highly specialized in raiding brood from its host, P. mexicanus depends on the labor of kidnapped ants to help maintain basic colony functions including, nest maintenance, feeding, and brood care. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
