A Hard X-ray View of Andromeda: Coordinated XMM-NuSTAR Observations of XRBs

We request 35 ks with EPIC to compliment a 200 ks depth 1030 keV NuSTAR surveyof an area of the M31 disk. These simultaneous XMMNuSTAR observations will alsocompliment previous XMMNewton widefield and XMM/Chandra bulgemonitoringstudies of M31. We will measure the 0.530 keV spectra of the Xray Binaries(XRBs) detected by XMM and NuSTAR (reaching 3e36 erg/s, 425 keV) therebyconstraining the accretion states of hard Xray point sources and compare themwith wellstudied Galactic XRBs.
