A long XMM-Newton observation of the least luminous Seyfert galaxy NGC4395

We propose a continuous 110 ks XMMNewton observation of the dwarfSeyfert galaxy NGC4395. The active nucleus harbours a small mass blackhole, M(BH)<8e4Msun, and the Xray source is extremely variable bothin flux and spectral shape. The proposed observation is aimed toinvestigate the Xray light curve and the spectral variability due toa complex warm absorber. A break in the power spectrum is expected forthis small system and will be used to test the scaling hypothesis ofthe black hole mass. The response of the warm absorber revealed from aspectral variability study will constrain the location of the absorber, which is expected to be very close to the central source. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
