Montgomery County Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) Covered Shelter Capable Buildings

his is a modeling dataset, not a designation list. A building appearing in this dataset has the size and use type compatible with sheltering. It does not confirm backup power capability, ADA accessibility, emergency response training, or memorandum of understanding with a local emergency management agency. 71 records (6.8 percent of the dataset) have a blank Address field due to source data gaps in original BEPS reporting. These are real BEPS-covered buildings whose UBID, City, ZIP, Use Type, and square footage are preserved, so buildings remain uniquely identifiable. Base building inventory is derived from the Maryland BEPS Covered Buildings dataset on the Maryland Open Data Portal. Tier classification methodology draws on FEMA Community Lifelines and American Red Cross shelter standards.
