Nature Study Pathways — Derogations — Geographical location

The Nature Study Paths are one of the most important infrastructure for outdoor and forest recreation in Cyprus. The Forest Department so far (2014) has developed a wide network of paths within state forests (consisting of 74 paths of total length 353.9 km), which offer opportunities for direct contact and acquaintance with the Cypriot nature, while serving environmental education and information and physical exercise. At the same time, the Department of Forests, as the competent authority for planning and promoting the creation of paths, cooperates with the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, the Local Authorities and the Provincial Administrations to create paths outside the state forests.
