Noise protection area at airfields

According to the Air Noise Protection Act (short: Air Noise Act) is to be defined for commercial airports and airfields with a traffic volume of more than 25.000 flight movements per year. In Baden-Württemberg, this applies to the airports Stuttgart, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden and Friedrichshafen as well as the traffic landing site Mannheim. A noise protection area consists of two day protection zones and one night protection zone. The purpose of the Act is to ensure in the vicinity of airfields building restrictions on use and structural sound insulation to protect the general public and the neighbourhood from dangers, significant disadvantages and significant nuisances caused by aircraft noise.
