Wheat Crop Ontology

The Wheat Crop Ontology list reference variables used for field or greenhouse experimentations and observations on Triticeae (Triticum, Hordeum, Aegilops, …). It is an international initiative gathering American and European contributions. Terms are organized following the Crop Ontology standard where each variable is composed by a triplet: (i) a trait (phenotypique or environmental), i.e. the studied character, (ii) a method, the measurement protocol and (iii) a scale, the unit of measurement or scoring scale. This ontology is used in major infrastructures including among others CGIAR (CIMMYT), Elixir, Emphasis, INRA.
