On July 3, 2023, a handheld LiDAR device (iPhone running Scaniverse) was used to collect 3D scans of a Northern Fur Seal (Callorhinus ursinus). These scans were conducted during a necropsy. The handheld LiDAR allowed us to capture highly detailed and accurate morphological data of the fur seal before and after the necropsy commenced.
