Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill. is an important plant in Chinese herbal medicine, in order to increase the collection of available markers, we screened sequence tag-simple sequence repeat (EST-SS
mRNA from 12 bee species was extracted and sequenced on a GS-FLX platform. The resulting EST sequences were assembled using phrap to produce a non-redundant EST dataset for each of the species.
