Genomic sequencing of tule elk

资源简介:
Genomes from four individual tule elk, a species endemic to California, were sequenced. The goal of this study was to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the genome to develop assays to track tule elk population movement. The species underwent a major genetic bottleneck in the 1870s but today has grown to over 3,000 individuals. However, tule elk populations are stratified by human development such as roads, bridges, and building development.
