Research and development in the field of environmental technology

The Federal Environment Agency report describes topics and trends in environmental technology research at Austrian universities and non-university research institutions. As a basis for this, the current R&D survey of Statistik Austria was evaluated and additional research, surveys and interviews with relevant actors in environmental technology research were carried out. After 2006 and 2009, this report is now available for further updates. Compared to the 2009 report, the number of R&D facilities relevant to environmental technology has increased, especially in the higher education sector. The number of employees at the research institutions has increased significantly during this period. The focus of R&D activities is increasingly on climate protection, energy, waste and raw materials/resources.
