Occurrence of viruses causing Maize Lethal Necrosis (MLN) in Uganda

Maize lethal necrosis (MLN) is a disease caused by synergistic double infections of maize chlorotic mottle virus (MCMV) with a potyvirus, most commonly sugarcane mosaic virus (SCMV). As collaborators in the CONNECTED community network for vector borne plant viruses (https://www.connectedvirus.net/) we assessed the current extent of MLN in Uganda and to determine the diversity of viruses associated with the disease.
