The XMM Large Scale Structure Survey

We have designed a project with the comprehensive goal of mapping thedistributionof matter over a 8x8 sq.deg. area out to a redshift virgul1 using threecomplementary approaches: (1) Xray: galaxy clusters and QSOs; (2) optical:galaxy and dark matter through a weak lensing analysis;(3) SunyaevZel.dovich effect: diffuse extragalactic hot gas. The proposed XMM survey at a sensitivity of virgul 5 E15 erg/s/cm2 in the 0.52 keV band will enable the construction of an homogeneous sample
