Validation of Sunken Oil Simulator (SOSim) subsurface oil model using the T/V Athos I spill, 2004-12-08 to 2004-12-20

This dataset contains the input and output files from the Sunken Oil Simulator (SOSim) subsurface oil model. Model validation used data from the T/V Athos I spill, which occurred November 26, 2004, in the Delaware River outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Two oil distribution predictions are provided: one for the date of sampling by NOAA (2004-12-08) and another twelve days later (2004-12-20). The dataset also includes the Python code necessary to run the SOSim model, as well as instructions on the set-up and inputs required.
