PR24 Water Industry National Environment Programme

This layer is an extract from the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP). The layer includes all actions in the WINEP that could be geo-located. Where eastings and northings were not provided, but the waterbody or groundwater body ID was, the action has been geo-located at the centre of the relevant waterbody. Actions that were geo-located to the waterbody centroid are shown as a grey dot without symbology to avoid misrepresenting location but to still allow people to click and see the action details. We have also used the waterbody centroid to plot the locations of actions whose original coordinates plotted in the sea. The processing steps were: Actions with no coordinates or WB ID or GWB ID were excluded (3613 rows) Actions with no coordinates were assigned the centroid coordinates for their water body or groundwater body ID. Actions whose original coordinates that land in the sea where assigned the centroid coordinate of their WB or GWB Actions that land in the sea with no alternative coordinates were excluded (208 rows) Columns were renamed to suit publishing to AGOL. Processing was conducted in R and the script is available on request from here. This particular WINEP dataset was issued to water companies on 17th January 2025.
