Completing the census of Ultraluminous X-ray sources in nearby galaxies

Ultraluminous Xray sources (ULXs) are extragalactic Xray sources possiblyhosting superEddington accreting black holes or neutron stars. The ULXpopulation shows sources with randomic long and shortterm variability. Weselected the twelve nearby (<20 Mpc) galaxies that most probably host ULXs andthat were not observed in Xrays. We ask for snapshot (10 ks) observations tocomplete the census of ULXs in the nearby universe.
