SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequencing and analysis

Detection of SARS-CoV-2 in clinical specimens obtained from the COVID-19 patients and whole genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 strains were undertaken. Genome sequences (n=7) were analysed for identification of substitution, insertion/deletion that may impact phenotypic changes in the virus. One of the most obvious relevances of this work is detection of mutations that could impact transmissibility and/or pathogenicity of SARS-CoV-2 or that my minimize the medical countermeasure or that could be considerably useful tool for epidemic monitoring to support the outbreak response.
