Barium in the subsurface (30-50 cm) for various land use-soil combinations
收藏资源简介:
What is there to see: Barium content (Relative versus median) for subsurface (30-50 cm) for 4 land-use land-type combinations in the Netherlands. Comments on: There is currently no standard for Barium (former intervention value = 920 mg/kg dry matter). The presence of Barium in the soil can be both naturally and by an anthropogenic source. Barium has various industrial applications, for example, it is used in other countries for shale gas extraction. The exact effects on public health have been investigated limitedly (see Envir. Geochem. Health: Kravenchenko et al., 2014). Consequences include heart and kidney disease. What is the Value: diffuse soil contamination has an impact on the potential for exploiting ecosystem services. Important for: Ecological capital and ecosystem services. Public health effects.
