Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) is a tick-borne phlebovirus which has emerged as a significant public health threat in East Asia, posing a potential risk of triggering large-scale epidemics.Here, we identified a fatal human case (female aged 81) in central China, who was clinically diagnosed SFTS.The patient presented with diarrhoea, vomiting, fever and disturbed consciousness.
