VPRS 17758 Slides, SECV Latrobe Valley Photo Collection

The State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV) Latrobe Valley Photographic Collection began in the 1920's with photographs taken of the progress of construction of the Yallourn Township, Yallourn Power Station and Briquette Factory. It continued on a part-time basis until after World War II and eventually a full-time photographer was appointed and attached to the Yallourn Drawing Office. Between 1957 and 1961 the Morwell Project ran a separate photographic activity. 1962 saw the formation of the Latrobe Valley Region, which merged Yallourn and the Morwell Project. This resulted in the two photographic functions combining as part of the Yallourn Drawing Office.In the 1990's, with the corporatisation, disaggregation and privatisation of the SECV, the photographic collection was allocated to PowerWorks, which was jointly owned by the three Latrobe Valley based generation companies. In late 2010 the collection was transferred back into the Office of the Aministrator (SECV) VA 4086 custody.The photo collection (which are held in various series) is made up of:- Photographic Prints in Cartons- Photographs in Albums- Negatives- Glass Plate Negatives- 35 mm Slides- IndexesThis series contains over 8,000 Black and White and Colour 35 mm Slides.

维多利亚州电力委员会（State Electricity Commission of Victoria, SECV）拉特罗布谷摄影馆藏始于20世纪20年代，最初收录的是亚卢恩镇（Yallourn Township）、亚卢恩发电厂（Yallourn Power Station）与煤砖制造厂（Briquette Factory）的建设进展影像。该馆藏以兼职形式开展记录工作，直至第二次世界大战结束，此后正式委任专职摄影师，并将其派驻亚卢恩绘图办公室。1957年至1961年间，莫尔韦尔项目（Morwell Project）开展了独立的摄影记录工作。1962年，拉特罗布谷区域管理机构成立，将亚卢恩项目与莫尔韦尔项目进行整合，两项摄影记录职能由此合并，归入亚卢恩绘图办公室统筹管理。20世纪90年代，随着SECV推进公司化改制、业务拆分与私有化进程，该摄影馆藏被划归由三家拉特罗布谷本地发电公司联合所有的PowerWorks（电力工程公司）。2010年末，该馆藏被移交回SECV VA 4086档案管理员办公室保管。本馆藏分设多个子系列，具体包含以下品类：纸箱装冲印照片、相册装照片、底片、玻璃底片、35毫米幻灯片以及索引目录。其中仅35毫米黑白与彩色幻灯片的馆藏量就超过8000张。
