Manta rays are iconic megafauna with cultural, socio-economic and ecological significance. Due to targeted and bycatch fisheries operating across their broad-ranging distributions, populations are declining worldwide. To facilitate effective management action, we ddRAD sequenced 112 oceanic and 120 reef manta rays to investigate levels of connectivity and genetic variation across the globe.
