SAGIS Phosphorous - River concentration (mg/L)

This is the annual average concentration of P predicted by the SAGIS model based on all the sources of phosphorus; sewage treatment works, livestock, arable, septic tanks and urban. If the monitored concentration is consistently higher than this it suggests that there may be a localised source of phosphorus from an unknown point source or from widespread poor practice. The output is also useful to help compare different rivers and focus effort where concentrations are likely to be higher.
