Mangrove Tile Census v1: 10 km equal-area mangrove fill fractions and watch tiers from Global Mangrove Watch v4.1.12

A global census of mangrove extent on a 10 km equal-area grid (EPSG:6933), derived from Global Mangrove Watch (GMW) v4.1.12, for 2025 with change since 2015. Each 10 km cell containing mapped mangrove carries its 2025 fill fraction, mangrove area, 2015–2025 change and a watch-priority tier (A/B/C/dust). Headline results: 25,682 cells contain mapped mangrove in 2025, holding 150,675 km² (raw pixel area; GMW's published 2025 total converted the same way is 150,674 km²). 7,847 cells hold 90% of the world's mapped mangrove and 1,722 hold half. 1,350 cells lost at least 0.5 km² and at least 5% of their mangrove between 2015 and 2025.Contents: 2015 and 2025 fill-fraction rasters (GeoTIFF), the change raster, a GeoPackage of all cells with fill, area, change and tier, CSV summaries, two charts, the scripts that generate everything, SHA-256 checksums of the outputs and of the 1,696 GMW input tiles, and a README with the method, quality checks and limitations.The tiers are a watch-priority ranking for monitoring, not a finding of deforestation: a drop in mapped mangrove may be clearing, natural change or mapping error.
