Unveiling the broad band properties of the fading transient AXP XTE J1810-197

This XMM program is aimed at continuing the monitoring the fading phases of theAnomalous Xray Pulsar (AXP), XTE J1810197. The transient behaviour of thissource, unique amongst AXPs, will make it possible to study its properties overan unprecedented range of flux levels and energies. This source might thusrepresent a Rosetta stone.. for our understanding of the nature and emissionmechanism of AXPs, and of a unified scheme for isolated neutron stars (NSs)encompassing apparently dissimilar classes, such as radio pulsars, dim NSs andcentral compact objects (CCOs) in supernova remnants. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
