Towards an X-ray Inventory of Nearby Pulsars openParIIclosePar

Xray data can help to better understand surface properties and atmosphericcomposition, magnetospheric interactions, and the geometry of neutron stars. Outof 2800 known radio pulsars, only about %10 are detected in Xray. Restrictingourselves to mainly bright sources or lucky finds may cause an observationalbias in particular for pulsars with low spindown powers where possible evidencefor increased heating or nondipole magnetic field components is observed. Wepropose a continuation of our deep legacy survey of nearby pulsars to obtain aless biased view of neutron stars Xray properties.
