NRW - Area Benefiting from Flood Defence

The outer boundary for the Areas Benefiting from Flood Defences is fixed to the Low risk flood extent for flooding from Rivers or the Sea (i.e. the area with a 0.1%, or 1 in 1,000, chance of flooding in any year). It is not property specific and shows the benefit for a general area. For specific information on the Standard of Protection afforded by flood defences refer to Flood Defences with Standardised Attributes. This information is different to the previous Flood Map: Areas Benefiting from Flood Defences which only showed the benefit provided in the event of a river flood with a 1% (1 in 100) chance of happening each year, or a flood from the sea with a 0.5% (1 in 200) chance of happening each year.
