Contemporaneous XMM and HST Observations of Ionized Absorbers in Sy 1 Galaxies

We propose simultaneous XMM and HSTSTIS observations of three prominentSeyfert 1 galaxies. Our primary scientific goal is to study the Xray andUV absorbers in these systems, focussing on their exact relation to eachother. XMMRGS will allow spectroscopy of the warm absorber with a resolutionof 1500km/s enabling us to directly constrain the kinematic relationship of the UV/Xray absorbers. Detailed variability studies of the warm absorberare possible with XMMEPIC.
