The susceptibility of a site to erosion by wind results from the erosion of the soils and increases with the erosivity of the wind at the site (increasing annual mean wind speed, DIN 19706). The erosion of soils by wind increases from the proportion of clay to clay and silt to sand at the soil matrix and is additionally influenced by the organic matter.
