CPW Gold Medal Waters Shapefile Download

The 'Gold Medal' designation is awarded to waters that have high-quality aquatic habitat, a high percentage of trout 14 inches or longer and the potential for trophy trout fishing and angling success. The CPW manages its Gold Medal Waters to maintain and upgrade populations of large trout. While stocking is used in some areas, many have populations of naturally reproducing trout. Central to the program are special regulations used to ensure populations of bigger fish. On most Gold Medal Waters, bag, possession and size limits are used. Fishing is usually restricted to artificial flies and lures only.
