Comparative transcriptomics of Emiliania huxleyi infection with EhVM1

E. huxleyi (strain RCC6946) was infected with E. huxleyi virus (EhV; strain EhVM1) and sampled for RNA-seq over a detailed time course of 50 days. Samples cover the transition of the population from a sensitive phenotype towards a resistant phenotype to viral infection. This host-virus pair was isolated from induced blooms of E. huxleyi in the Fjords of Norway and presents an ecologically relevant host-virus model system.
