Inclusion in an AWBZ institution for which an own contribution is due (01-01-2011-01-01-2015)

This file contains the data of all recordings of persons aged 18 or over who have received care with stay in the reporting year, the costs of which are borne by the AWBZ (General Act on Special Medical Expenses) and for which an own contribution has to be paid. The SSB component shall include per person in the underlying reporting year the start and end dates of an admission with the type of institution (until 2010) where the care was provided. This file contains only recordings of persons who have ever been or still have been in the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA).Persons aged 18 or over who receive care whose costs are borne by the AWBZ are legally obliged to contribute to the costs of that care. This is called the own contribution AWBZ. The own contribution is due from the day on which the stay is borne by the AWBZ. The own contribution obligation ends as soon as the stay is definitively no longer accounted for by the AWBZ.If one is not staying in the institution, but the place in the institution remains reserved, for example on weekend leave or in the case of temporary hospitalisation, the own contribution remains due.The type of institution is derived from the first two digits of the AGB code (General Data Management Code). On 1 April 2004, the modernisation of the AWBZ started, which meant that the separation between types of institutions has disappeared and healthcare providers can also provide care outside their own sector. By definition, a healthcare provider does not have to provide the type of care that its code implies. For this reason, the type of institution will no longer be delivered from reporting year 2011.If the recording for the reporting year has started, the first day of reporting year (1 January) is reported as the starting date of the recording period. If the recording continues in the following reporting year, the last day of reporting year (31 December) has been reported as the end date of the withdrawal period.The withdrawal dates have been adjusted for overlapping withdrawal periods and for death. If there was an overlapping withdrawal period, the end date of the initial recording has been adjusted to the start date of the next recording. If the recording continued after the death, the end date of the recording is equal to the death date.By moving from one institution to another, it is possible that a person appears twice in the file on a reference date. The end date of the first recording is then equal to the start date of the second recording.For the use of this file, generic consent has been issued by the data provider, provided that the data provider receives an overview of the studies carried out. This overview is maintained by the Centre for Policy Statistics.
