Extraction Testing of eDNA from Bear Cut (Biscayne Bay, FL)

Dataset includes raw sequences from 16S and 12S rRNA amplicon metabarcoding of marine eDNA, collected from surface water in Bear Cut on two days (22 May and 27 August 2020). The purpose of this study was to test the effects of different in-cartridge Sterivex extraction treatments on population dynamics of resident bacteria, archaea, photosynthetic eukaryotes, and bony fishes. Optimizing eDNA extraction is important for biological monitoring efforts and ecosystem-based management.
