LU 2 - Transport of European heavy goods vehicles (LU) - International transport

The statistics "Transport of European heavy goods vehicles (VE)" represent the transports of international road haulage over German territory and complete the transports of German heavy goods vehicles (lorries). For this purpose, the Federal Motor Transport Authority, as the national competent authority, receives aggregated and extrapolated annual data in accordance with Annex D to Commission Regulation (EC) No 6/2003 from the Eurostat data pool. The data provided are available at different regional levels (NUTS) in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1059/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council. For some countries within the scope of the Regulation, there are time gaps or early data notifications. The data is usually collected as a sample (as in Germany). The analysis of cross-border traffic of European vehicles is based on all journeys across the German federal border of all registered vehicles - INCLUSIVE of the foreign route shares for the respective journey. Passages are determined via a NUTS 3 based distance mechanism.
