This dataset lists the addresses, GPS coordinates and capacities of bicycle parking facilities in Saint-Marcel, France. It aims to improve the daily lives of local cyclists, support sustainable development policies, and encourage bicycle use as a travel mode. Potential applications include: providing information to users to promote the development of bicycle transportation; if residents are aware of the distribution of bicycle parking spaces, they are more likely to choose this travel option over more polluting alternatives. Additionally, this data can enhance the safety of local cyclists by helping them find secure, dedicated bicycle parking locations rather than leaving their bikes in non-designated areas. Data collection process: The city of Saint-Marcel has a map marking some of its bicycle parking spots. Based on this, we used OpenStreetMap to confirm the parking locations and calculate their geographic coordinates.
