This dataset records the statistical data of grassland type area and livestock carrying capacity in Huangnan Prefecture, Qinghai Province for the years 1988 and 2012. The data is classified and counted based on grassland group type codes. For example, code Ⅰ represents alpine dry grassland, Ⅱ represents mountain dry grassland, Ⅲ represents alpine desert, B represents medium grass group, J represents shrub group, and so on. All data was compiled from the *Statistical Book of Grassland Resources in Qinghai Province* published by the Qinghai Provincial Grassland Station in 1988 and 2012.
