Environmental Ordinance, Glass horticulture and cultivation area Zundert

For some time now, the province has been pursuing a greenhouse horticultural concentration policy in which areas are designated for the development of greenhouse horticulture. Concentration of greenhouse horticulture offers benefits from sustainable energy and opportunities for exploiting residual flows and from an environmental quality perspective. Within these areas, the municipality, in coordination with entrepreneurs and residents, determines the development opportunities for greenhouse horticulture. Outside these areas, the development opportunities of existing greenhouse horticulture companies are limited. In addition, the Zundert cultivation area is included in the Environmental Ordinance. The tree-growing sector and soft fruit sector are increasingly taking an important economic position within the province.
