Metagenome of mice colon contents

Iron deficiency during pregnancy and lactation is strongly associated with cognitive deficits in offspring. This study prepares a novel polysaccharide-iron, the chitosan-iron complex, and investigates the effects of maternal chitosan-iron intake during pregnancy and lactation on the brain cognition of offspring and its underlying mechanisms by establishing a maternal iron deficiency mouse model.
