With the updated guideline, the Federal Environment Agency supports project applicants, planners and experts in the preparation and processing of environmental impact statements (EIAs). The environmental impact statement is an elementary part of the procedure under the Federal Environmental Impact Assessment Act (EIA-G 2000). The guide contains an overview of the legal provisions and provides practical assistance for the selection and specification of the contents of an environmental impact statement. For better comprehensibility, the instructions were supplemented with practical examples.
