In vitro activity of antifungal drug combinations against Candida albicans.

Antifungal activity and interactions between drugs were determined using minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) and chequerboard microdilution assays, respectively. MIC was defined as the lowest concentration of antifungal agent resulting in an 80% inhibition of fungal growth compared with the control. Interactions based on FICI values were defined as: synergistic (FICI4.0) and no interaction (FICI 0.5–4.0).
